White Sox starter Joel Horlen finished with a complete game 2-hit shutout after pitching no-hit ball for 7 1/3 innings. Washington Senators Cap Peterson nipped Horlen for a single breaking up the no hit bid. Horlen faced only 29 batters, giving up the two hits, 1 walk with 3 strikeouts. He has won 2 and lost 0.
Chicago managed only 2 hits all game with Tommie Agee producing the game's only run with a solo HR. Pete Ward had the White Sox' only other base hit.

Absolutely awesome newspaper photos. I do not remember listening to this game but I imagine that I did. I do remember listening on the radio to the no-hitter against the Tigers in September.
